The Community for Conscious Living is a nonprofit, educational organization with a strong ecumenical focus that was established in Riverside, California in 1992. We are a group of inquiring students who share a desire to expand our spiritual horizons. We come from a variety of secular and religious backgrounds and we each seek to enrich our journey through spiritual practice and study of the world’s great spiritual traditions. We desire to draw closer to the loving Spirit which pervades all creation and which inspires our compassion for all beings.

 

We are not a religious institution nor are we an alternative to church. We see ourselves as a valuable adjunct to organized religion because of our interest in the higher realms of spiritual development. We do not advocate nor enforce any system of religious beliefs.

We are simply students of the journey. We believe that one way to explore the meaning of life is to stop arguing about dogma and start looking inwards. But we do so with a light touch, avoiding the urge to take ourselves too seriously. We welcome all seekers, regardless of their religious orientation, who are interested in deepening their spiritual lives.
