Heide Joy
Heide was born near Frankfurt, Germany, the 5th of 6 children. Her father was Catholic and her mother ProtestanHeidi Joyt, a situation almost unheard of at the time, and which may well have sowed the seeds for the contemplative nature of Heide's spirituality. After graduating from German High School and German Business School, Heide worked as a secretary in the Language Department of USAFI (United States Armed Forces Institute), where she met her husband, who at the time was a GI working in an Army Education Center. After her move to the US, she earned a BA in German Literature and European History from Cal State Fullerton, although it may be said that Heide's passion for books and her thirst for knowledge have allowed her education to continue far past official graduation dates.

While raising her three children full-time, Heide found time to volunteer as a teacher, hone her skill as a photographer, and work as a translator for both the private and public sectors. Heide was introduced to the Center when they offered a seminar on the life of "Hildegard of Bingen" --which makes sense when one knows of her educational interests!--and she has been with this wonderful group of people ever since, undertaking her spirtual growth with them. Heide spends her time travelling, participating in multiple book clubs, going to water aerobics, and keeping in touch with the many friends she has spread all over the world...to name just a few of her pursuits!

Andrea Le NeveAndrea Le Neve
My first experience with CCL was a weekend at the Abbey 7 or 8 years ago, and i've been participating somewhat regularly since. I've been involved in metaphysical studies since the 70's and am a member of the Religious Science Church (now known as Riverside Community Center for Spiritual Llving- way too long a name in my humble opinion!) I work as an MFT in a group practice in Riverside, and live in Riverside with my 2 granddaughters.

Amanda TromblayAmanda Tromblay, M.A.
I was the oldest of seven children of a catholic family who devotedly followed the rituals of that faith. After years of Catholic school, I went away to study Child Development and Biology at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. My first job was working among the poor to set up Head Start Centers. I eventually became an elementary school teacher. In midlife, I changed careers and received a Masters in Marriage and Family Counseling. For six years, I did therapy and now work for the County of San Bernardino as a supervisor in the Department of Adoptions.

I married in my early twenties. During this phase of my life, I had a desire to find the meaning in the Catholic symbolos I grew up with. Through Yoga and meditation, I was able to discover the connection with God that I was searching for. My husband became interested in the spiritual life when we attended a marriage encounter weekend. We decided as a couple that we would pursue the path that was common to both of us and we returned to the Catholic Church. There I found a Carmelite preist who taught me meditation practice for seven years. There were many teachers available to help me incorporate ancient mystical practices in my life. I took several classes for adult spiritual formation through Claremont College. The most recent teacher for me Bernadette Robers who mentored me for ten years. I am now a board member for the Center of Conscious Living where I hold meditation groups and teach.

John Weible
John Weible, L.C.S.W.
John Weible has been a practicing psychotherapist, in both the public and private sector, for over 25 years.  As a teenager, he became deeply interested in the study of Eastern spiritual traditions and the practice of meditation.  Since that time, he has expanded his study to a broad range of spiritual traditions, but has always attempted to maintain his meditation practice.  He has attended the Community for Conscious Living for a number of years and has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2002.
